In one of Brazil's least evangelized regions, Pastor Abe has served with PAZ (Project AmaZon) since 1981. In addition to leading PAZ’s base in Fortaleza, he oversees hundreds of churches in the Boa Vista and Santarem regions. Having created the Apostolic Discipleship Model, Abe desires for every church member to meet with their disciples every week, creating mentoring and accountability within the Body of Christ. He is also president of the ADM Association, an inter-denominational network that serves thousands of churches and helps them advance God's Kingdom.
With an international network of more than 700 churches and an extensive international missions program, Pastor Joakim has grown Word of Life Church into a body of believers that reaches people of all ethnicities and languages. In 2002, Joakim founded New Generation, a cross-denominational student movement that equips young Christians to share God’s love at schools and universities worldwide.
